Most of you know that I feel that the most important part of summer training is just that; training. Too many races are hard on the body, and that is not what you need during the summer. Races a plenty are in your future this fall. With that said (again), one or two races can be beneficial. For some they serve as motivation or validation for your summer training. For others, beginners especially, they serve to prepare you for what to expect come your first race. A race or two this summer will help you control your nerves when your first high school race comes.

Previously I gave you the dates of what last summer was called the Summer Cross Country Series. I am told those races may still occur, but I have found no new information or registration forms for them. If anyone else finds anything let me know. I would advise at this point to assume the races are not being offered.

Here are some other races I am considering this summer. Remember that a more complete list of races can be found at fitnesssports.com.
